A Tool-Kit for Listed Property Owners: Seminar 28.03.14

19 March 2014

Adams & Remers and Sussex Past are hosting several seminars for the owners of listed property this year in Lewes. The first of the series takes place on Friday 28th March 2014, 9.30am to 4.00pm, and will be given by experts in their field and featuring the Listed Property Owners Club, a conservation officer and experienced chartered surveyor who will all be on hand to provide information and advice.  In addition, our own legal expert on Listed Property, Suzanne Bowman, will talk about the imminent changes to Listed Building Consents and generally update with regard to the law affecting listed property.

Suzanne Bowman, Associate at Adams & Remers, comments: “Lewes is very historic and there are a number of Grade I and II properties in and around the town. Owning a listed property has with it many responsibilities and if owners don’t take advice before they carry out work to their property, they could find themselves with a legal headache. Owners of listed property can be fined or imprisoned for carrying out work to a listed property without the correct consent.”

“From April 2014 there are new rules for those planning works to listed buildings so I would urge anyone who owns a listed property to come along and find out how this may affect them”.

Places at the seminar are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Full refreshments will be provided including a buffet lunch and in the afternoon we will be visiting Lewes Castle to be guided by Sussex Past expert and authority John Bleach.

All refreshments and the visit are included in the cost of the day which will be £15 per head (including VAT).
