Full or part-time

Based in: Pall Mall, London & remote

Salary range: £45,000 – £60,000

The Firm has two offices with this role being based in the London (St James’s) office but with the possibility of hybrid working. The Firm is Legal 500, Chambers and Spears 500 ranked and is modern, responsive and approachable with an excellent reputation.

The Firm has 19 partners and a team of around 100 covering areas such as corporate and commercial, employment, real estate, private client and dispute resolution.

The employment department’s clients include companies involved in the tech, entertainment, fashion, publishing, financial, leisure and care sectors.

Most of the work carried out by the department is on behalf of employers or senior executives. The team are currently working on complex high value employment litigation with which the candidate will assist the Partner.

This is a very hands-on and varied role with lots of opportunity for the right candidate to get valuable first-hand experience in some complex and interesting matters whilst working alongside senior fee earners. The successful candidate will also be involved in business development and helping to expand the team further.

This is a great opportunity for a driven junior solicitor to make their mark and to be a key part of the overall expansion plans of the Firm.

The role

To provide an accurate and comprehensive, high quality service to assist the employment partner in their client work. The work includes advising on all elements of employment law including employment disputes, corporate support, redundancy and restructuring projects, contracts, policies and procedures and settlement agreements.

Your qualifications

You should be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:

  • Good academics (degree classification of 2.1 or above)
  • At least one year’s experience in a busy employment department in a well-respected firm based in the City or the west end of London
  • Organised, adaptable, accurate and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • IT skills
  • Good written English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enjoys working as part of a team
  • Flexible, resilient and the ability to handle change
