Our Commercial Property team is the largest practice area in the Firm and is based in both Lewes and London, with this position being within our London team. Across our practice areas of Commercial and Residential Property, Private Client, Litigation and Corporate and Commercial, we have 19 partners and a full team of around 100.

Our clients include landlords, developers, entrepreneurs, banks, local government and commercial agricultural estates, based all over the UK and internationally. In addition to advising on all aspects of commercial property sales, disposals, leases, option and promotion agreements, landlord and tenant and development work, we have specialist sector expertise in agriculture and estates, care homes and healthcare, viticulture and hotels and leisure. Our matters range in value up to approximately £20m.

The role:

To provide an accurate and comprehensive, high quality service to clients during their property transactions.  The work includes:

• managing a case load of commercial property work involving freehold and leasehold transactions, development agreements, acquisitions, disposals, landlord and tenant matters, finance and security documents and reports
• face to face contact with clients and referrers
• active role in business development

Your qualifications:

You should be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:

• Previous experience in a real estate role
• Qualified solicitor or CILEx (up to 2 years’ PQE) or experienced Paralegal
• Organised, adaptable, accurate and the ability to work to tight deadlines
• IT skills
• Excellent client relationship skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective time management skills
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to ‘go the extra mile’
• Enjoys working as part of a team
• Flexible, resilient and the ability to handle change
