As a long standing legal firm based in Sussex, Adams & Remers feel strongly about giving back to our local community. Our employees select our Charity of the Year, and it was clear that the vision and work of Jamie’s Farm really resonated with our teams. We are delighted to be partnering with this fantastic charity.
Jamie’s Farm supports disadvantaged young people through a farming, family and therapy programme that allows children who are disadvantaged and at risk of exclusion, to spend a week at Jamie’s Farm to improve their self-esteem, engagement and wellbeing by taking part in real farming jobs.
Across four rural farms and a London city base, Jamie’s Farm works with over 2,000 children per year who are at risk of academic or social exclusion.
“Our unique programme sees small groups of children immersed into farm life during a week-long residential, or series of day visits, tackling real jobs with tangible outcomes, within a supportive family environment; this encourages cooperation, boosts self-esteem and builds positive relationships.” says Jamie Feilden, founder of Jamie’s Farm. “We improve young people’s mental wellbeing, behaviour and engagement with school by building life skills, and the support of Adams & Remers will help many young people benefit from the Jamie’s Farm programme.”
The programme also gives the children skills in art, cooking, woodwork, gardening, horse care, music and games. See some fantastic images of the activities here.
Jamie’s Farm partners with a number of fundraising events across the country, including the South Coast Challenge along our stunning coastline and the Thames Bridges Trek in London. We encourage our staff to form teams to take part in events like these and provide time for volunteering activities. We also organise in-house fundraising events to support our Charity of the Year.
