Tim advises across a wide range of commercial property related matters, including purchases, sales and lettings, property finance, development, investment and property management.  He also advises on the property aspects of corporate mergers and acquisitions.  He acts for investors, banks, retailers, hoteliers, leisure operators, developers and tech companies.

• Expertise: Tim has acted on the acquisition and sale of a number of shopping centres, film and TV studios, the redevelopment of the stadium of a Premier league football club, and the letting of the City of London headquarters of a major Building Society.  He has a particular specialisation in acting for major franchisee businesses, acquiring sites around the UK to operate drive thru’ and high street fast food and coffee shop outlets for international brands.

• Background: Tim qualified as a solicitor in Scotland, requalifying as a solicitor in England and Wales at Allen and Overy.  He was a partner at the firm of SJ Berwin from 1996 until 2003 and a partner at Matthew Arnold & Baldwin from 2003 until 2012.  Tim joined us from the firm of Thrings in 2017, where he had been a partner since 2012.
