Where Office is Open but You Cannot Get In
If the office is open but you are unable to get in to work, the following options are available to you:
Note – please be mindful of your own health and safety when deciding on whether you can make it into (and return home from) the office. It may well be more productive for you to work at home (if your job role suits this and you are set up)rather than spend a considerable amount of time on your journey. With the good communication/telecoms we have, we would expect you to be pretty productive looking after and communicating with clients to the best of your abilities.
Fee Earners should be contacting clients to let them know if there’s going to be any delay in the clients receipt of communications that they are expecting.
Adverse Weather Whilst At Work
If there is a significant change in the weather during the working day the Senior Partner may circulate an email notifying staff that they can leave the office early if necessary to get home safely.
If you need to leave the office before any such email has been circulated then you should obtain authority from your Head of Team. If your Head of Team is out of the office, then authorisation will need to be obtained from the Senior Partner.
When severe weather is forecast HR will circulate an email reminding staff of the adverse weather policy. If you anticipate that you may not be able to get in to work the following day, you should discuss with your Head of Team whether you may need access to the A&R computer system, so that your Head of Team can liaise with IT. Please note that each team has 1 or 2 licences for access to the A&R system. These will be allocated on a priority basis, so please ensure that your Head of Team is aware of the level of importance/urgency attached to your work.
