Professional Development and Ongoing Training
We recognise that it is essential for our teams to stay up to date on all aspects of their work. To achieve that we encourage employees to carry out further training in their area of expertise and also in generic areas such as IT software, first aid and aspects of management.
As a new employee, we will take you through a comprehensive training programme, introducing you to our systems; this can be delivered via Teams whether you are working in the office or at home.
Every year, we welcome new trainees to our teams. Our trainee selection programme helps us to select the best candidates to complement our practice area teams. As a trainee, you will:
Gain a wide range of experience across four disciplines. You will complete four seats, 1 in each department. This normally involves spending time in both the London and the Lewes offices, gaining training and experience with highly respected solicitors who are experts in their field.
Alongside this you will complete the Professional Skills Course and receive training on the company systems, Anti-Money Laundering, Data Protection, Health and Safety and Cyber Security.
Bring people together
To keep people connected, we have a regular newsletter, social media groups, employee intranet site and regular social events. We organise wellbeing walks and our Wellbeing Champions reach out across the firm to provide support and a listening ear. We encourage and provide opportunities for our staff to volunteer with organisations that they feel passionately about, and also contribute towards personal charity fundraising efforts.
